At NeuroVisual Specialists of Florida and iSee VisionCare, we treat patients for eye misalignment, a condition that can cause life-altering symptoms like constant and intense headaches related to eye movement.
Dr. Erin Sonneberg, OD, studied under the foremost expert in eye misalignment conditions, Dr. Debby Feinberg, and is passionate about helping people who suffer from binocular vision dysfunction and similar conditions.
What is Binocular Vision Dysfunction?
Eye misalignment can be hereditary or caused by trauma such as a car accident or a fall on the ice. When your eyes are misaligned, however slightly, the muscles surrounding them have to work especially hard to present clear images to the brain. When these muscles become strained or fatigued, patients begin to experience the painful symptoms associated with binocular vision dysfunction.
These symptoms often include dizziness, nausea and headaches related to eye movement. Some patients report trouble driving, panic attacks, discomfort in crowds as well as motion sickness. Other symptoms can be especially devastating. These include trouble reading, double vision and words “jumping off the page.”
Many patients who visit NeuroVisual Specialists of Florida and iSee VisionCare have been misdiagnosed as having migraines or vertigo. Often they have suffered for years with no relief.
We Can Help
If you have any of these symptoms, contact NeuroVisual Specialists of Florida and iSee VisionCare today. We will examine the muscles around your eyes for signs of binocular vision dysfunction. If we find an eye misalignment, we can correct the condition with prismatic lenses.
